Volunteer with us
In the past, our Hickory Aviation Museum has relied on a host of volunteer veterans of World War II era to our current conflicts, as well as the families of these veterans.
We need to continue the magnificent work of so many and pass along opportunities to the next generation to carry forth with the education of our youth.

Our goal is to have the museum open to the public six days a week, and additional volunteers are necessary to continue to make that a reality.
There are no paid employees at the museum, and thus the Sabre Society and dedicated volunteers have developed, maintained, and proudly invited the public through the doors of history at no cost.
Volunteer Roles
We need volunteers in all capacities, to meet and greet the public, restore and repair aircraft, work on social media, and conduct tours for school children and guests through the museum.
No aviation experience is necessary.
If you are interested in aviation or want to learn about aviation, we can use you. Any hours would be greatly appreciated and we guarantee you will come away with a sense of gratification, fun, and pride.
