Retired USMC TAV-8B Harrier II To JOin Hickory Aviation Museum!

For anyone who watched or has seen photos from the USMC AV-8B Harrier Sunset Ceremony yesterday at MCAS Cherry Point, NC, you’ll have noticed one of the five jets that flew the single aircraft fly-past and was part of the 5-plane formation as well as the simultaneous five aircraft hover and land, was a two-seater aka “T-Bird”, training aircraft TAV-8B.

This has been identified as the jet that will be joining Hickory Aviation Museum. It is Bureau Number 164122. Unlike the Harrier we received in July 2024, BuNo 164560, we will be unable to have this flown in now that flying ops have ceased.

Stay tuned for updates on us trucking in this aircraft to Hickory! Here is a photo of the jet after landing at the ceremony.
