Here is a great shot from Brian King of Dan's departure in the Tiger Moth. Dan is a former F-4 driver and brought the beautiful Tiger Moth all the way from Mooresville to be with us! This beautiful aircraft and Dan add tremendously to our event.

Dan Linkous flew his lovely deHavilland Tiger Moth in for our ceremont. Fortunately it wasn't too cold. Dan meets our friend Homer Wellborn for the first time. They are a neat component to the 49th FG's history. Homer was in the 49th prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor and stayed with the unit throughout the war!! Dan flew F-4Ds with the 49th during the mid seventies!
Here is my pal Preston Trexler. Preston served as a medic in Iraq and saw extensive duty there a few years back. His dad Jim was there also I am very glad to report. I coached Preston in Minor League baseball and can't believe how time has flown by! Jim has been with our organization from the start. He served in Vietnam with SAC out of Utapao, Guam, and other spots. He worked with the KC-135s and B-52s that were so vital to the campaign. Also Jim is a very skilled mechanic and has been involved in getting several of our aircraft as well as their restoration!
